One of my mentors (who also happens to be my brother) often reminds his students of Earl Nightingale’s definition of success:
Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal or goal.
With that definition in mind, today was a success. I did make progress. The scale finally showed that gravity’s grip on me had relaxed a bit, BUT…I ran into an issue.
I knew it was cold, so I geared up before my walk: a sweater, work gloves, heavy coat, beanie over the ears…but with a wind chill of -32F, none of it mattered. I made it just over 1/2 mile and I was done. Tomorrow I’m committed to doing one of the Apple Fitness+ core training workouts. There will likely be some things I can’t do with my shoulder, but I will do what I can to keep moving.
I have spent some time researching the best exercises for keto and will report back with a regimen to follow. I’m sure it will evolve, but I have to have a plan so I have something to stick to. In other words, saying that I’ll get some exercise is too loose of a definition given my tendency to do as little as possible.
The definition above is from the 1956 book, The Strangest Secret. Check out the video below if you’re interested.
