To my knowledge, I have about 4 regular readers of my daily ramblings:

  • Brook Lynn
  • My daughter, Eliana Grace
  • My mom, Molinda
  • Brook’s mom, Tina

It’s been encouraging to get some feedback and interest in what I’m doing, especially from my kiddo. It’s not always easy for dads and daughters to maintain a good relationship in the teen years. We live in different worlds, but we’ve managed to stay close (even though I’m sure she doesn’t tell me everything that she has going on.)

She surprised me with an impromptu gift yesterday: A Hidrospark Pro Bluetooth enabled water bottle. No doubt, she’s seen my struggle with drinking enough water and decided to help out. Well…she’s a bigger help than she knows. I arbitrarily picked the volume of water I wanted to consume daily because it was easy to remember and measure…one U.S. Gallon, or 128 ounces. According to the water bottle app (using data it got from my Apple Health), I should be consuming about 86 ounces of water per day. I’m going to still shoot for the gallon, especially now that I have accurate tracking, but I’m happy to know that I’ve been consuming a healthy amount of water because I’m certain I’ve hit the 86 ounces even on my worst days.

A big thank you to Eliana for thinking of me and supporting me. I know she wants a healthier dad and that fuels the fire. 🔥

I actually took my afternoon walk in the afternoon today. The temp was good and the fear of being run over was greatly reduced. I’m currently adding to my water consumption stats for the day (thank you big hills.)

In addition to my Frozen Shoulder, I also seem to be suffering from a case of Frozen Scale. Pretty much no movement this week. I’m not letting me bring me down, but I am letting it piss me off a little bit. I’m planning to work extra hard next week to win my challenge to Brook.
