Today is February 1st and I’m feeling good about some things:

  • I’m 10lbs down
  • I’ve eat a ketogenic diet since 1/1
  • I’ve missed ONE day of exercising
  • I have updated this blog daily

So what’s next?

The same thing, but more of it.

I’m calling January “The Stretch”. It was the warm up before the exercise - me trying to get my body accustomed to movement again.

I consumed roughly 1,200 calories today. I should probably work on getting that under 1,000, but at least now I have a baseline. I also did the 2 mile walk, plus another 10 minute Fitness+ core workout. I dreaded it…didn’t want to do it…tried to talk myself out of it…BUT, I did it.

Tomorrow’s plan is to start the day with a workout. If I can break away at lunch, I’ll squeeze in as much of a walk as I can. My total movement today was 2.5 miles. 2 miles of that was on the nighttime walk I took with Brook and Ava. That means that without the walk, I would have moved about 1/2 mile for the entire day…not good. The more steps I can squeeze in, the better.

I’m hoping the scale hits me with a number I haven’t seen in awhile (which is anything below 227). I try not to let the scale influence my mood because I know I will eventually win, BUT - it is pretty effective motivation when you see the number whittling away. I also want to put a little distance in between me and 230. If you weigh every day, you see fluctuations. I don’t want to fluctuate back into the 230’s…in fact, I never want to see them again.

Ava was the biggest motivator in the house for taking a walk… “Tris! You said you would walk every day…" She insisted on going and she did the whole 2 miles in some sort of fuzzy, onesie, jammy thing. She’s a trooper!
